Emily's Oz

Comcast*
Everyone has a favorite movie

A lot of people hate Comcast. But if you get to know them, there is actually a lot to love. Emily’s Oz highlighted Comcast’s commitment to accessibility by telling the story of Emily, a 7 year old who was born without sight, and what she, “sees” when she watches her favorite movie: The Wizard of Oz. After Emily described the movie in great detail, we built it to her exacting specifications so that the rest of the world could share in her vision. The Campaign Debuted on the Oscars accompanied by a documentary of the experience, the first ever accessible version of The Wizard of Oz available free on XFINITY, and a travelling installation that found a permanent home at the Smithsonian in Washington DC, right next to Dorothy’s real ruby slippers.
